What we do
The primary focus of Carbon Conscious is to create large scale carbon estates in the Australian wheatbelt in order to produce quality and accredited carbon credits. We will do this through planting Mallee Eucalypt trees, a native species adapted to the growing conditions of the region.
Over their growing life, the Mallee Eucalypt will ‘sequester’ or store carbon from the atmosphere thus creating ‘carbon sinks’ through the development of our Carbon Capture Program™
We also provide carbon credits to businesses and individuals seeking to offset their carbon emission ‘footprint’ in the voluntary market.
Greenhouse FriendlyTM Accreditation
On 10 December 2008 Carbon Conscious was awarded approved Abatement Provider status under the Federal Government’s Greenhouse FriendlyTM Program (GFP) for its forest sink Carbon Capture ProgramTM.
The approved Abatement Provider status certifies Carbon Conscious’ business model of supplying low cost accredited carbon credits to Australian companies expected to have mandatory liabilities under the Government’s proposed carbon pricing regime. This will be achieved via the development of native mallee eucalypt forest estates in the wheatbelt areas of Australia.
Carbon credits produced under the Carbon Conscious Carbon Capture ProgramTM will be Kyoto Protocol compliant after passing stringent quality standards set by the Federal Government’s Department of Climate Change.
